ISG - Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning Week

From Bradford to Birmingham, London to Glasgow, ISG people across the UK have got into the fundraising spirit for Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning Week, which took place on 25-29 September 2017.

Our offices around the country raised over £4,000 for ISG’s UK charity partner, Macmillan.

The week of fundraising showcased the special talents of our people - whether it was with a whisk at our nationwide bake-off competition, or using their minds at a charity pub quiz, or using a PlayStation controller in a FIFA ’17 computer game tournament.

Here is a snapshot of our favourite moments from the week.

  • Niki Field and Luke Mackenzie-Hill were announced as ‘best bakers’ in our Ipswich office, while Tom Clark from the Birmingham team has his wife’s baking skills to thank for his prize-winning entry.
  • Our Bradford team hosted a variety of events, including lunch sales throughout the week (pictured above) - which raised over £800 – and retail director, Steve Kelly, was crowned the winner of the Director’s Bake-Off competition.
  • In Huntingdon, the team’s bake sale contributed £422 to our fundraising totals.
  • Parkin (a northern delicacy) and cheesecake were ‘flavour of the week’ for the Chorley champions Steve Beever and Holly Overton, while John Flannery doubled-up his winning streak by succeeding in both our charity bingo and ‘guess the height of the cake’ competitions.
  • In London, Louise Donkor was crowned ‘star baker’ after her Ghanaian chocolate tart wowed the judges, while Jamie Hicks saw off the competition from 31 competitors to win the FIFA ‘17 computer game tournament (pictured below). Our Construction South team also raised over £1,000 from a pub quiz.

Macmillan Cancer Support is ISG’s UK charity partner for 2017-18 and we continue to raise money for the charity via our Just Giving page.
